Does ANYONE like being in an environment that’s stuffy and overly academic? Probably not, and that’s one reason why people often get too intimidated to go to office hours. Every week, I’m going to be at the old Niche Café by the Beaty Museum. I will bring Bagels, you bring whatever you want, and we’re just going to chat the time away. Everyone is welcome, but a group of 15 or so will be specifically invited each week! You can go to as many or as few as you want! These are not mandatory, and group assignments are merely “suggested assignments”. All groups are posted on Canvas. The dates are:
Wednesday | Sept 11 | 4 pm | Group 1 |
Thursday | Sept 19 | 2 pm | Group 2 |
Wednesday | Sept 25 | 4 pm | Group 3 |
Thursday | Oct 3 | 2 pm | Group 4 |
Wednesday | Oct 9 | 4 pm | Group 5 |
Thursday | Oct 17 | 2 pm | Group 6 |
Wednesday | Oct 23 | 4 pm | Group 7 |
Thursday | Oct 31 | 2 pm | Group 8 |
Wednesday | Nov 6 | 4 pm | Group 9 |
Thursday | Nov 14 | 2 pm | Group 10 |
Wednesday | Nov 20 | 4 pm | Group 11 |
Thursday | Nov 28 | 2 pm | Group 12 |
Feel free to look up photos from other #bagelswithben sessions using that hashtag! Here are a few others:
Last week, we had a #bagelswithben with @UBCPsych students in which we talked about international vs. traditional schools in HK – and how scary the latter can be. Also, someone baked for us! Thanks Pelin! They were also delicious. Put my mass-produced bagels to shame. pic.twitter.com/TKurZ2xSc3

A fun #bagelswithben yesterday talking about being a pastry chef, cronuts, and grad school applications. The takeaway is that putting blueberry jam with nutella with camembert cheese together on a blueberry bagel = ???? (w/ @Candice_Lipski) pic.twitter.com/kf06DZEINU

Guess who's back, back again! @UBCPsych students here for another #bagelswithben. In this session, we learned that Jackson Lundy is an amazing singer and y'all should check him out. pic.twitter.com/rByYueocdX
