Japan Now on BBC

I recommend a recent episode from the BBC Podcast Arts & Ideas titled “Images of Japan”.

Participants in the Japan Now 2019 Event in the UK (Feb 18-25) were invited into the BBC Studio to talk about their work and reflect on Japan’s coming future. The impending close of the Heisei Era was the stimulus for the opening comments from each participant. The invited artists, writers and translator offered their respective thoughts on what the Heisei Era meant for Japan, and what Japan will look like under the reign of the next emperor.
