Hybrid Events

Hybrid events are designed to merge in-person teaching with online student participants and/or guest lecturers using Zoom. Hybrid events can be conducted in any classroom. You will have a technician who will operate the media within the room, displaying slides on one screen (if you have any), and zoom on the other, fusing virtual and in person together. For students online, the technician will be able to arrange a view that is best suited for their learning, for example with a combination of using slides, room view, doc cam etc. This set-up is very versatile and offers many different combinations or single shots.

Your technician will also assist in joining the Zoom call for you, taking you away from any technical duties. It is important that you have forwarded the meeting information ahead of time, and the logistics have been discussed for the smooth running of the event.

You may additionally require extra microphones, e.g. for a classroom discussion, which can be arranged through your booking when you request the date. This must be specified ahead of time to ensure availability.

Any lecture content should be sent beforehand, so it can be successfully tested on a potential loaner laptop if this service has been requested. If personal laptops are used when presenting, ideally a test should be carried out to make sure these devices are compatible with the unit.
