or your students to access your Zoom lecture room, we recommend adding a link in your course navigation. You can do this two ways:
- Enable the Zoom tool and set up your meeting in Canvas
- Set up you meeting in Zoom and add a link in Canvas
1. Enable the Zoom tool and set up your meeting in Canvas
- In Course Navigation, click the Settings link.
- Go into the Navigation Tab
- Drag and Drop the Zoom tool into the top block so it will show in you course navigation
- Scroll down – SAVE
- Schedule a new meeting.
- If you want to track student attendance and polls via Zoom CSV reports as well as create preset breakout rooms, you should require student registration and send registration link to students.
- Note: To track polls and participation we recommend iClicker Cloud instead of Zoom polling.
- If you get an error accessing zoom, please check that the email that is associated with your Canvas account is the same email that is associated with your Zoom account.
NOTE: if you have already set up your ZOOM meeting prior to the integration, you can import them into Canvas by hovering over the options button (the three vertical dots) and then choosing the Import meeting option, see screenshot below. Make sure you know the Meeting ID of the meeting you want to import!
You cannot import the same meeting into two Canvas courses!
OR if you do not want to utilize the ZOOM Canvas integration you can use option 2
2. Set up you meeting in Zoom and add a link in Canvas
- Open Settings
- In Course Navigation, click the Settings link.
- Open Apps
- Click the Apps tab.
- Redirect tool.
- +Add App
- Adjust the name of your link to Lecture Room
- Paste your Zoom Link into URL Redirect (recommend using a recurring meeting in ZOOM)
- Ensure Force open in a new tab and Show in Course Navigation are selected
- Add App – refresh your screen
- Select the Navigation Tab in Settings
- Drag and Drop your lecture room link to where you want it to appear in your course navigation.
- Scroll down – SAVE
