This undergraduate-led workshop is designed to provide students with a practical guide for navigating <\/span><b>SPSS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the popular statistics computer program used in the social sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>When\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211; Wednesday, Feb. 3<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rd<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0from 1-2PM<br \/>\n<\/span><b>Where<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0&#8211; Buchanan B125 (located in the computer labs of Buchanan A)\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Details:<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Fr<\/b><strong>ee workshop open to undergraduate student<\/strong><b>s<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of any year and in any faculty (although workshop examples will be based on <\/span>sociological research<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>No prior social statistics knowledge needed<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2014the focus is on practical use of the software and only the basic idea behind statistical techniques will be covered.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>This workshop is based on learning to access and use secondary public use\u00a0social science<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u00a0data<\/strong>. However, students may also apply workshop exercises to their own data instead.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>A take-home SPSS handout will be provided<\/strong>\u2014this\u00a0covers all workshop material and more.
