Conan O’Brien is hilarious. So hilarious, he used the first 16 minutes of his speech for standup comedy.
But he said some things in that last 9 minutes of his 24 minute speech that I found quite profound.:
There are few things more liberating than having your fears realized.
Your path at 22, may not be your path at 32 or 42.
One’s dream is constantly evolving, rising and falling, changing course, this happens in every job.
You should accept your misfortune, but if handled right, your perceived failure can be a catalyst for profound re-invention.
No specific job goal defines you.
Disappointment will come to all of you, but with disappointment comes clarity, which can lead to conviction and true originality.
Whatever your dream is, it will likely change. Don’t worry about it.
Just remember to work hard, be kind and amazing things will happen
