Love this poem:
If think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win, but you think you can’t, its almost certain you won’t
Chance Favors the Connected Mind
A lot of people have the next “great ideas”, yet most people I talk to think that you have to keep it top secret, and once you create a business out of it, then only then can you share it with people. It’s a myth…
KONY2012 The most viral videos on youtube.
A lot of people feel powerless to communicate their ideas, they feel they don’t have a say, one individual can make an impact, we have the simple tools to do it. Especially since the world is a much more connect place now, thanks to social media.
If you don’t know about KONY2012 at this point, you should definitely watch the above video.
The world is a much more open and connected place. Get your voice heard. Video after the break:
Conan O’Brien is hilarious. So hilarious, he used the first 16 minutes of his speech for standup comedy.
But he said some things in that last 9 minutes of his 24 minute speech that I found quite profound.:
Watching this video makes you realize just how fortunate we are in our current situations and further emphasizes the fact to never give up on your goal. The story told by this Romanian details his trek trying to escape from Romania and how he ultimately arrived in Montreal Canada with barely any food or water.
Sometimes we aren’t grateful of where we are, what we have, and how fortunate we are to live in such an amazing country I call Canada.
Very few people realize how blessed we are to be where we are today, and likely have never faced against the odds that these guys faced.
I’d like to leave with the message to not take what we have for granted, and to be grateful for where we are and to give back to help others in need from time to time. We’d want the same thing in their situation.
And when you want to sit for hours on end procrastinating, watch some inspirational videos, and be proactive and make a difference.
One of the best speeches ever given. If you haven’t watched this, watch it now. You will thank me later.
Do these three things everyday:
1) Laugh
2) Think and self-reflect
3) Have a lot of emotion
Figure out where you are, and where you want to be.
Have a dream, a goal, and work towards it.
Enjoy your life.
Be enthusiastic everyday.
Nothing great can come without enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is defined by wikipedia as inspiration or possession by a divine afflatus or by the presence of a god. Or in other words, from the god within you. Now you see why everything I have been saying focuses on you as an individual? And why self improvement is the most important thing to becoming a great human being?
Don’t give up, don’t ever give up. We are faced with challenges and roadblocks not to bring us down, but to build ourselves up.
If you appear unsure, you’ll be seen as unsure. Walk into a room with confidence.
I’ve been to so many networking events, and met many interesting people.
What separates the best, from the rest, is how you convey yourself. Your body language determines how well you are perceived. If you cross your arms, you appear to me as being close minded. Watch how Steve Jobs, just youtube it.
Then watch this video:
It takes a lot of practice to be good at something, and networking and interviews are no different. Next time you ask yourself why you didn’t get that job, or couldn’t connect well with that key person. Ask yourself how you could do it better next time, write it down, and make a conscious effort to improve yourself. Greatness comes from consistent actions to improving yourself first.
And like Jeffery Gitomer says: “If you don’t understand yourself first, how can you hope to understand anybody else?”
