[Exercise] How to prevent a quarter life crisis

Life Quote:

Your personal philosophy is the greatest determining factor in how your life works” ~ Jim Rohn

People around their mid twenties tell me that they’ve reached a quarter life crisis and don’t know what to do with their lives. And when I ask them why, they say it’s because they don’t like their job and feel they are at a loss of direction.

[Exercise] The Misconception about Success

Abraham Hicks’s inspirational and motivational speech (after the break) talks about Success and how most people define success from material things:

Life Quote on Success:

Success is measured, not by comparing yourself against the outside world, but by comparing yourself against what it is you want to accomplish, and feeling consistently happy on the inside regardless of where you are now and where you want to be. ~ Unknown

You can’t evaluate from outside of someone’s vibrational gap, whether they are successful.

Success is an individual coming into alignment of

Daily Life Quote #23 – What you need to do when you are stressed

Life Quote #23:

Today’s quote on life relates to a Positive Attitude Tip I read about:
Years ago someone said this to me about stress:

When you find yourself stressed, ask yourself: What difference will this situation make 5 years from now? If it doesn’t make any difference, then don’t be stressed by it. If it will make a difference in 5 years time, then take action towards improving or changing the thing that is stressing you, but don’t complain about it. Just get better and get over it. Read motivational quotes or inspirational quotes, find motivational videos, and people to get you through them. Find inner peace within yourself.

When something negative happens to you, how long do you stay in a bad mood? If it’s for more than a couple of minutes, you need to fix it. The longer you stay in a bad mood, the worse you feel. Read this motivational speech if you don’t know what I mean. And when you eventually get over it, and look back, you often realize it wasn’t a big deal. But it feels like a big deal in the moment. The key is to get over the negative thing quickly and be solution oriented as soon as you can.

Read motivational quotes and inspirational quotes everyday.

Have an amazing day!

Daily Life Quote #22 – “Don’t let someone who gave up on their dreams talk you out of yours”

If you’ve got a dream, you’ve got to protect it. If you don’t have one, the first thing to do is find one. Find something that will help you get up in the morning. Ask yourself, if what your about to do today is something you want to do for the rest of your life. If the answer is no for too many days, you haven’t found it.

You can come up with a million excuses for why you should not do something. But you only need one reason to start something.

Before I started this blog, I didn’t know whether I would enjoy writing. I aggressively avoided English throughout grade school, scored 69% on my English 12 Provincial, and 70% on the 2nd try. But after I started the blog, I realized I actually enjoy writing this blog , both because it helps me think positive, but also because of the value the site brings (hopefully in a good way).

But to actually take the first step, get hosting and start the blog was probably the hardest part, you need to force yourself to take the first step, and they don’t need to be big steps either for the risk adverse accountants out there 😉

But try something new. You’ll be surprised at the results.

Have an amazing day!

[Video] Why you should limit yourself from too much social media & technology

Very insightful talk about the perils of using smartphone and social media technology too much

Do you get a feeling of lonliness when you read your Facebook news feed? Well, a lot of people have.

The following are the key points of Sherry Turkle’s Speech on technology:

–          Technology is taking us places we don’t want to go

–          Our smartphones are so physiologically powerful, that they don’t change what we do, they change who we are

–          People text or email during corporate board meetings, at friend gatherings…everywhere

–          People seem to want each other if and only if we can have each other at a distance in amounts we can control

Daily Life Quote #21 – Make your brain 31% more efficient

Life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you respond to it ~ Lou Holtz
This is one quote I try to live by everyday. It’s so easy to think negatively about a situation. For example, when your friend starts arguing with you about something. Your initial reaction is often negative, you want to argue back and defend your point. But over time I’ve realized that if I respond in a negative way, the situation never gets anywhere and then you feel terrible about yourself afterwards.
The famous Dale Carnegie said that “no one likes to feel that they are wrong”.
If you seek to arrive at a solution, and approach it in a positive way, your brain functions 31% better at coming up with a solution. Negative blocks logical thought, and makes you feel miserable.
Attitude is defined as the way you commit yourself to the way you think. Remember this the next time you see an argument starting or when faced with something negative.
