Conan O’Brien is hilarious. So hilarious, he used the first 16 minutes of his speech for standup comedy.
But he said some things in that last 9 minutes of his 24 minute speech that I found quite profound.:
Conan O’Brien is hilarious. So hilarious, he used the first 16 minutes of his speech for standup comedy.

One of the best speeches ever given. If you haven’t watched this, watch it now. You will thank me later.
Do these three things everyday:
1) Laugh
2) Think and self-reflect
3) Have a lot of emotion
Figure out where you are, and where you want to be.
Have a dream, a goal, and work towards it.
Enjoy your life.
Be enthusiastic everyday.
Nothing great can come without enthusiasm. Enthusiasm is defined by wikipedia as inspiration or possession by a divine afflatus or by the presence of a god. Or in other words, from the god within you. Now you see why everything I have been saying focuses on you as an individual? And why self improvement is the most important thing to becoming a great human being?
Don’t give up, don’t ever give up. We are faced with challenges and roadblocks not to bring us down, but to build ourselves up.
If you appear unsure, you’ll be seen as unsure. Walk into a room with confidence.
I’ve been to so many networking events, and met many interesting people.
What separates the best, from the rest, is how you convey yourself. Your body language determines how well you are perceived. If you cross your arms, you appear to me as being close minded. Watch how Steve Jobs, just youtube it.
Then watch this video:
It takes a lot of practice to be good at something, and networking and interviews are no different. Next time you ask yourself why you didn’t get that job, or couldn’t connect well with that key person. Ask yourself how you could do it better next time, write it down, and make a conscious effort to improve yourself. Greatness comes from consistent actions to improving yourself first.
And like Jeffery Gitomer says: “If you don’t understand yourself first, how can you hope to understand anybody else?”
A few things I learned from the great Will Smith:
1) Greatness is not a godlike feature only the special among us will ever possess. It truly exists in all of us. As soon as you understand the following things about yourself:
– I know who I am
– I know what I want
– This is what I believe
And then, you do what you need to do to get what you want. It’s really a very simple concept, but most of us try to over complicate the situation.
Use the following as your guideline:
1) Develop a strong belief system.
2) Don’t ever tell yourself there is something you can’t do. Persistence and Dedication is key.
3) If you are going to be living on this planet, there is a necessity to make a difference. You have to make every person you come in contact with better. If you are not making someone else’s life better, you are wasting your time.
4) Leave a legacy. Make the world to be better because you were here.
Our thoughts, our feelings, our dreams and ideas are physical in the universe. If we dream something and we commit ourselves to it, it’s a physical trust towards realization that we can put into the universe. That the universe is not something that will push us around. That we can demand the universe to become what we want it to be.
Very insightful interview with Tony Robbins on “The Hour”
Life not easy, but nothing in life is permanent, no problem is permanent, nothing is so pervasive that you can’t change it. ~ Tony Robbins
Have certainty before you do anything, be in the zone
Most people have so much breadth, but no depth in their life
When your life doesn’t match your expectations, you are going to feel crappy
If your not happy where you are, what is it all for?
When you get old in life, things get taken from you but that’s part of life
And you only learn that when you start losing stuff
The margin between success and failure is so small, that sometimes success comes down to small inch like improvements. Adjusting how you say that one sentence, or do that one action.
But if you make small improvements day by day, you’ll learn where to add and subtract those inches
Because you know, that those small inches, are the difference between winning and losing.
The guy that’s willing to die to earn that inch, to improve himself and be the best he can be, that’s what living is about.
Focus on yourself and improvement a bit day by day, and live to be your best. That’s what living well is all about.

When it seems impossible, when it seems like nothing is going to work, you are usually just a few millimeters away from making it happen.
How many of you have experienced an instance where you have felt overwhelmed with a whole bunch of urgent to dos? Taking a deep breath and looking at the situation and slowly prioritizing reveals that you really can get through everything. Give that little remaining ounce of energy, and don’t give up.

Speech from the late Napoleon Hill, who has written one of the best known books known to man: Think and Grow Rich.
Key Points from his speech:
– Take power of your mind and direct it to whatever ends you may desire
– What your mind feeds upon is what your mind attracts to you
– Have definite of purpose
– Know what precisely you want in life
2 Envelope Concept
Everyone comes to earth with the equivalent of two envelopes:
– Riches you may possess if you take possession of your own mind and direct it to ends of your own choice
– Penalties if you neglect to take possession of your mind and direct it
It has always been your choice which envelope you choose.
Action Items
Procure a neat notebook:
– On page 1 – Clear description of your idea of success
– On page 2 – Clear statement of what you intend to give in return
Repeat at least 12 times daily
And end with the following statement:
Oh great providence, I ask not what of more riches, but more wisdom, and use wisely the riches I received at birth, to whatever ends I desire.
This guy has the most hilarious voice. But definitely one of the great motivational speakers of the world. His words are priceless gems.
