Be Grateful.
This guy definitely should…for being alive.
And so should you. Everyday. How’s that for inspiration and motivation? You never know what may happen to you tomorrow, so live in the moment.

Have you ever sat their procrastinating in front of youtube for 2-3 hours or in front of the TV, and then felt like crap? I sure have. And I hate myself every time I do it. When you feel efficient, you feel great. When you procrastinate, you feel like crap. If you are one of those that procrastinate, keep reading. It’s time to prevent procrastination.
I’m sure there are amazing things that you want to do in life. Many of which you put off and think that “someday” you will achieve them. This can include things such as:
“To get up each morning with the resolve to be happy is to set our own conditions to the events of each day. To do this is to condition circumstances instead of being conditioned by them.”
Ralph Waldo Trine
Realize that you can either control your mind, or let your mind control you.
When you hang around people that are energetic, you become energetic. When you eat healthy, you feel healthy. When you set your mind in a positive mood every morning, you feel better about your day.
Whether its reading a positive quote each day, praying, meditating, or reading from a positive book, I challenge you to do something positive right after you get up each morning and assess how you feel compared to the past few weeks. I believe that you will feel much better about your day.
But, I can say whatever I want here, and they don’t mean anything unless you take the actions to implement them. Make it an action plan, write “I will read something positive every morning” on a sticky note and post it on your bedroom mirror/wall, and take the necessary actions. After a week assess how you feel.
If you want some good books to read, email me@frankyuyan.com, and I’ll pass on some of my recommendations.
And the next time you get stuck in traffic, or wake up to rainy weather, or break something, think positive about the situation. If you can’t change the situation, there’s no point getting fussed about it. If you can change the situation, take the necessary steps to do it. Be a person of action!
Have an amazing day!
Very insightful talk about the perils of using smartphone and social media technology too much
Do you get a feeling of lonliness when you read your Facebook news feed? Well, a lot of people have.
The following are the key points of Sherry Turkle’s Speech on technology:
– Technology is taking us places we don’t want to go
– Our smartphones are so physiologically powerful, that they don’t change what we do, they change who we are
– People text or email during corporate board meetings, at friend gatherings…everywhere
– People seem to want each other if and only if we can have each other at a distance in amounts we can control
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Life’s 6 Rules of Success
While we may not admire Arnie as much, I like his mentality on success:
1) Trust yourself, dig deep down, ask yourself who you want to be? What you want to represent. Figure out what makes you happy, no matter how crazy it is. Build a strong belief system, and don’t let anyone take that away from you.
2) Break the rules, Continue reading
Controlling your focus. I lot of people can’t focus, and slip into procrastination. Tony Robbins offers some insight.
Tony, when you’re not listening to the cocky Kobe Bryant, you have some good stuff to say.
Here is one of his presentations on the importance of focusing. I have summarized the key points below in addition to adding my own insight:
8 Rules to Success:
1) Passion (although, if you agree with this post: http://blogmaverick.com/2012/03/18/dont-follow-your-passion-follow-your-effort/ this one may or may not be relevant)
2) Work damn hard, Continue reading
