In the second week we went to Victoria. We took the bus from Place Vanier. Then we arrived at the ferry terminal: we had never seen anything like that! It was very big, similar to an airport. On the ferry there were some restaurants, shopping stores, and places for children to play. The ship was awesome and it had several levels. We even bought some souvenirs. We visited the parliament building for about 45 minutes, and then we went to the Chinatown with our monitor Laura.

We also went whale watching, but we weren’t very lucky: they didn’t show up too much. However, the ride in the Zodiac was really nice. After that we ate in a restaurant and then went to the club 919. By night, Victoria is very beautiful, with all the little lights and its European charm.

After seeing many sights, we decided to take the Seabus to discover the city from another angle and to relax a little bit. We paid 24$ for 1 hour of touring. This cost is for students, for adults, tickets are 26$. There was a man on the boat acting as a guide. We saw the blue, clear water, many trees and beautiful animals. On the coast, there are many expensive houses with boats parked in front. Victoria is also a rich city. For this hour, we could hear the water’s sound and get in tune with nature. We had an awesome time in the small boat.

Je suis allée à Whistler avec le groupe. Il y a eu 3 bus qui sont partis entre 5h00 et 5h15 le soir. J’étais dans l’autobus 3. Mon autobus est arrivé à l’hôtel Tantalus à Whistler à environ 7h00. Moi et mes 5 colocataires sont allés à notre suite et ont choisi nos lits. Ensuite, nous nous sommes préparés pour sortir à une boîte de nuit à 9h45. La nuit était amusante, mais je me suis couchée très tard, bien que je devais me réveiller tôt. À 8h30 le lendemain je me suis réveillée très vite pour faire le ziplining. Je suis arrivée au lieu en retard mais le groupe était encore là. Le zipline a duré 2 heures et était vraiment incroyable. La vue était bien belle et l’activité elle-même était vraiment cool. J’ai pris beaucoup de photos et réalisé de films. Pour la dernière ligne, nous avons eu l’option pour avoir la tête à l’envers, et quand je l’ai fait je me suis beaucoup amusée. C’était le meilleur moment de ma journée. Après ça, j’ai dormi un peu et j’ai marché autour de la ville. Dimanche, je n’ai rien fait jusqu’à 6h30 quand le groupe a quitté pour retourner à Vancouver.

Je suis allée à Whistler avec mes amis et j’ai vu ma famille le dimanche. Quand on était là, moi et deux amies sont allées sur le gondola pour faire le Peak 2 Peak. Ça valait la peine! Les vues ont été magnifiques! C’était très cool parce qu’on pouvait voir les arbres tout verts en bas de la montagne, en même temps qu’on était sur la neige en haut de la montagne. C’était très beau.

Another week, but what a week — with a lot of activities to do and a lot of things to discover. The schedule gave us so many choices, like the salsa lesson, the movie night, capture the flag and more. But this week, some people decided to explore by themselves and chose to do their own activities. That is what I decided to do. If you want to do activities by yourself, let me suggest going to Gastown and visiting an Irish pub to try great beers.
