English 301 is a writing intensive course that prepares students for real-world written and online communications. Throughout the course, students are expected to work independently and collaboratively while working through numerous written assignments throughout a total of four units in preparation for the final Web Folio assignment. The objective of this web folio is to present my capabilities as a technical writer and provide readers insight on my professional experiences and career goals.
My personal goals for this course is to be able to create online portfolios which would prove useful to employers when I decide to apply for co-op this year. As someone who knows the power of LinkedIn but have rarely utilized it, I would like to learn how to professionally update my profile and display my accomplishments. Furthermore, I would like to develop my written communication skills as I know it is an important skill to develop to successfully communicate in a modern world. Being provided meaningful feedback from an instructor and fellow peers will help guide and strengthen these skills.
