Day 7 was an exciting day for me, as it was the first time I ever got chance to teach in St. John’s! Even though the subject is still math, I got to explore a bit of the curriculum for Math 10 Enriched at the school. Overall the lesson went well, students were learning something completely new for them, and what I did was ensuring they all understand the tricky concepts so that they are more prepared for the upcoming DP program. I did not have fancy classroom activity, but I still tried to implement some humour and jokes throughout the lesson to give students a “brain break” that I believe students all need for a more lecture-based lesson. What surprised me was that students in private school, maybe because that was the enriched class in particular, are extremely respectful and responsive to all the inquiry questions throughout the class. I enjoyed the entire class and that totally opened my insight of enriched classes in private schools.

Day 8 was the day of Playland! We spent nearly the entire day in the Playland (this time I remember to put sun cream on me…). I took a few rides and the rest of the time I was in the teacher indoor area chatting with the other student teacher and other teachers. It was a relaxing day.

Day 7 – We experienced a heavy hail on the day; it was the heaviest hail I have ever seen.
