Summary of comm 101-the launch of a new project

During this term, we saw and study various elements that are really useful to use when you want to launch a product.

First we learned to use business models like the canvas, which is not only but an analysis of the company it it’s whole. However knowing the strength and weakness of the company and also the market touched by the company it is easier to launch a new product. In the same optic we learned how to use other business tools such as the swot analysis. The swot analysis is not only about our company but also about the concurrent company. Finally we learned how to make a market research. A market research can be done by following steps: define the problem, determine the research, identify data…(that process can be found in http://www.quickmba.com/marketing/research/ ).

I have decide for those two last posts to make a summary of what we learned because I think that we learned in a very good atmosphere a good base of commerce and I wanted to share this knowledge with others.

We also learned about major commerce branches such as marketing, accounting and finance. After four months of study we can say without doubts that every part of a company is as important as the other one and it’s because those branches are going to cooperate that the company is going to be successful.

Summary of Comm 101- within the company

To summarize what we saw during that term about the keys for a company that whishes to be successful.

First of all we saw that communication within the company is a main point in getting his company successful (One of my post is about this). The different divisions of a company like marketing and accounting have to be in good relation so that decision makers have all the elements to take their responsibilities and decisions.

Then, having the company’s managers and employees to respect the business ethics, which means to behave well. Otherwise it can hurts severely, the company, even a giant as HP.(referring to Mark Hurd’s sexual harassment case)

The company should let the customers know about their brand positioning and it’s value proposition. Having a transparent and trustful relation with it’s suppliers, employees and customers is a key to keep a good atmosphere and so a profitable company.

Finally I believe that a company should-d make an effort on socializing. As we saw during our course on social entrepreneurship, the social entrepreneurship is still not really developed. I believe that it is important to help others when we have the possibility to do so. Like Ashoka a company that is stable should try to help those poor families realize their dreams.

How communication influences the results of a company?

Today’s post is going to be about Operations.

As we saw in class, it is crucial for a company to have a good supply chain management and to possess a good communication between every division of its company such as marketing and accounting. I found an example that illustrates perfectly how important that communication and management are important. I will however not say the noun of the company because it is related to a people I know and after asking him answered that he agreed on telling the story whiteout the name of the company.

Company X was actually going to buy shares of a company on the market. The consulting company they hired asked them to wait a little, unfortunately because of one of the company X’s division this message was given too late. The company X lost a huge amount of money on that really small mistake.

For a small company like company X, that lost was enormous and they were in the obligation to fired many people as a result of that mistake.

If their communications were better between their different division, managers would have known the consultant advice and all those problems would have never existed.

A clear, trustful, transparent relationship between every divisions of a company is a key to a successful and stable company.

Red Bull: How marketing can create a giant.

In this post I wanted to focus on a brand i think is just incredible: Red Bull. It is neither the product itself nor the logo that impressed me but how many times and in how many places you can see that logo and hear that name. Red Bull is everywhere and never left it’s primary market and images the extreme sport event.

Red Bull’s marketing team is incredible, always seeking new ides to make a buzz and let their brand name in people ‘s mind. Here are some famous videos you might have seen that I believe show the spirit of Red Bull.

–       https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGf6earGAOc

(There is a longer version on You tube that is even more incredible)

(There is also the second part of the video on You Tube)

HOW AWSOME ARE THOSE VIDEOS RIGHT!!!

Those videos are all showing something never done before and it ‘s this innovative touch that allows Red Bull to be where they are: at the first place. Red Bull is definitely an example showing that a good marketing team is a major advantage in a company.

Business Ethics: a need to keep a stable company

In 2010, an important affair happened in HP’s company. Mark Hurd the CEO of that same company was accused of sexual harassment on one of their employee. What interest me a lot are the consequences of such an act on a giant such as HP company. Mark Hurd was a CEO who generates money as no CEO did in HP since a long time; respected by his employees his affair was kind of a choc. How can an employee can keep continue doing a great job when he realizes that his CEO has behaved as bad as Mark Hurd did.

Business ethics is what causes the obligation for HP to separate them from Mark Hurd. HP had to choose another CEO after him, they chose Leo Apothker who made the company lost in inly eleven months 30 billions of dollars. That loss generates so many pay cuts and layoffs, which obviously created a non-trustful relationship between HP’s manager and workers.

We don’t realize how ethics is important but if he former CEO Mark Hurd didn’t behave well, the company would not have fallen as much as it did. Business ethics is a key to a stable company because business ethics will generate the trust of the employees which is the most important relationship you need in a company.

Ashoka : A gate to a great future.

Ashoka is an association with non-lucrative goal that was founded in 1980 by Bill Drayton in India. Today Ashoka is the biggest network of social entrepreneurs. Using a catchy slogan: “everyone a change maker ” is clearly traducing is goal: to say that everybody can contribute to a better world. I learned about this company when my father joined it a few years ago when Ashoka came in France.

We also heard people from this company in the video on social entrepreneur.

I think this company is perfectly showing what people can build with conviction: a world where we respect everywhere the human rights, where people can think dream is achievable. It seems for us an evidence and we forget sometimes how lucky we are.

I’ve decided to talk about social entrepreneurship because I think that we do not talk enough of those amazing people who are making so much good around them and it is a great proof that we can focus on his career but still help people.I believe that our generation will have an important role to play in social entrepreneurship

I believe that social entrepreneurship is a key to maintain a stable and respectable future what about you?
