Social Media has became the place to show all those photos that we love to our friends. As everyone can see them and rapidly some photos can become viral, it is recommended to be careful about all we post. However, we cannot control what others post, and unfortunately Social Media can be an easy place to revenge.

I’ve read some posts and I found an interesting image, which is attached below that describes how to remove embarrassing photos from each social network. Moreover, a study by McAfee revealed that 13% of respondents had posted private content without the consent of the other person. In fact, an embarrassing photo could get you fired or injure a relationship, apart from  ruin part of your online reputation.

Once the damage is done the user can request to remove the image or the post in each social network, as it is the right of privacy.

Facebook

In addition to asking the other person to remove the picture, each image published in this social network offers the option of ” Report Photo ” . Additionally , you can report the case to Facebook by following the steps indicated in the photo attached.

Instagram

In this social network the process is easier. Each image has the “Photo Options” in which the user can choose ” Hide from my profile”, and “More Options”, where you can find the option “Remove me from Photo ” ( eliminating the label pictured) and ” Report Inappropriate”

Twitter

The microblogging platform advises users to unfollow , block and seek support from friends and family , especially when it comes to cases of ‘ cyberbullying ‘ or Sextortion (sexual blackmail on the internet) .

Beyond these recommendations , Twitter provides a form for reporting such behavior or content. It is important to check the ” I’m being mentioned directly.”

Anyway , beyond requesting photo removals , online reputation experts advise generate a large amount of personal content on the web according to the image you want to show. Thus, this information will appear first in search results and embarrassing photos or videos will become in more distant positions.
