The Image of the Image

Create an image that visually evokes the experiences you described in our first assignment (An Image in my Mind)

In that assignment, your depiction of mental and physical/sensory associations constitute a written image; a translation from visuals to words. This project invites you to translate these associations once again into visuals.

This process can be seen as:

VISUAL IMAGE (PHOTO)  ——-  WRITTEN IMAGE (YOUR DESCRIPTION)  ——-  NEW VISUAL IMAGE

As per our class discussion, consider colors, shapes, textures, etc as conveyors of meaning. Your image doesn’t have to be fully abstract: you can incorporate figurative elements but not from you initial image.

One approach can be to start by creating a set of keywords from the feelings in your written description. Then consider the formal elements that, in your view, allow you to visually translate them:

What would be the colors and shapes of nostalgia?

Of happiness? Longing? Tenderness? Uncertainty?

Please post your link as a reply to your own written image in the page for the first assignment.
