My experience with Blogging has mainly been through the MET program. Before I started the MET program I had made a website but I had never made a Blog. Hence, I did not have any experience working with a Weblogging tool. My first experience with Weblogging was using UBC Blogs and I found it to be very user friendly. It took me longer to figure out all the features because it was my first time using it, etc, but it was not tedious by any means. It was just a matter of devoting some time initially to learn how to use the built in features that were already pre-existing. Creating my ePortfolio blog for this course was so much easier due to the exposure I have had to Blogging from previous course. I find this is the case with any online program. Once you have used it once or twice, you become familiar with the components and it takes you half the time to create something new. I also found that once you have used one Blogging program and have some exposure, it becomes easier to use other Blogging programs. I had not used some of the programs that were present in the toolkit so I enjoyed playing around with them and gaining some experience. I can see how some of these tools would be beneficial to use in a classroom but I am still apprehensive to use some of them because of the fact that students could be put at risk when using these blogs.
