Granville Island is filled to the brim with local art. In fact, the Emily Carr University of Art and Design is housed in Granville Island. You can buy paints, art, wool — pretty much all the art supplies you can think of, at Granville Island. Further, you can check out Granville Island Improv where you can catch a hilarious show with local improv players. For a list of artisans and where to find art at Granville Island, click here.

Gifts

There will be lots of opportunity to buy gifts and souvenirs for your friends and family at home. If you do plan on using this trip to buy gifts, remember that many vendors close shop at 7PM. Some examples of things you can buy include: handcrafted jewelry, mugs, t-shirts, etc.

We’ll end the day with an option trip to the beach for the Honda Celebration of Light! This is an annual fireworks competition where different countries participate. This Wednesday, Australia will be putting on a show. Bring something cozy to wear — it can get chilly by the water. The show starts around 10PM (or when it is dark enough) and lasts about 25 minutes.
