English 301 covers the tenants of technical writing and professional communication, highlighting various skills, methods, and scenarios central to professional correspondence. Relevant real-world exercises allow students guided practice and instruction in these principles, while team writing assignments foster group learning and peer feedback. Along the way, students improve articulation and editing skills, build web portfolios to showcase work, and craft communication projects for use in future endeavors.
Relevantly, my expectations for ENGL 301 orbit around practicing professional communication skills and learning from the writing and feedback of others. I expect to learn about specific writing and communication techniques through relevant, real-world scenarios and assignments, culminating in professional-level writing samples and experiences.
Communication takes many mediums and practicing the various forms of correspondence undoubtedly makes a person more adept all around. Moreover, the ubiquity of communication makes improvement noticeable and exceptionally rewarding. To that note, I expect to be challenged in thought and ability in this course, but look forward to learning from one another, adding to our communication toolkits, and honing our writing abilities as a class.
