Some of the notes below are informed by the \u201creader centered,\u201d writing style which is used in professional settings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Suggestions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Creating<\/strong>\u00a0a clear and relevant subject line will help the professor understand the purpose of the email.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Using<\/strong>\u00a0a school or work email address will indicate the message is from an identifiable source. The professor may feel more comfortable responding to the email.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Addressing\u00a0<\/strong>recipients by their name and formal titles such as Dr or Professor will create a professional tone.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Introducing\u00a0<\/strong>yourself will indicate who is writing the email and why.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Highlighting<\/strong>\u00a0an acute interest in the course\u2019s content and themes.\u00a0<strong>Showcasing<\/strong>\u00a0ways the course can benefit your educational and career goals.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Maintaining<\/strong>\u00a0a professional and neutral tone throughout the email.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Being<\/strong>\u00a0concise and clear.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Expressing\u00a0<\/strong>appreciation towards the professor for their time and consideration. Force enrolling students into a course is an act of kindness.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Practicing professional writing will help when communicating with future employers and colleagues.
