{"id":67,"date":"2021-12-07T20:47:08","date_gmt":"2021-12-08T04:47:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/webfoliosidney\/?p=67"},"modified":"2021-12-10T19:26:05","modified_gmt":"2021-12-11T03:26:05","slug":"revised-progress-report-memo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/webfoliosidney\/2021\/12\/07\/revised-progress-report-memo\/","title":{"rendered":"Revised Progress Report with Surveys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Memorandum<\/p>\n<p>To: Dr. Erika Paterson, Instructor ENGL 301 Technical Writing<\/p>\n<p>From: Sidney Singh Student ENGL 301<\/p>\n<p>Date: October 29th,2021<\/p>\n<p>Subject: 301 Progress Report: Increasing student participation in the Creative Writing Student Association (CWSA).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose and Significance of Report<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this report is to provide recommendations for increasing student participation in the Creative Writing Student Association (CWSA).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Intended Audience<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Members of the CWSA Executive and Social Committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Report Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The objectives of the report are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To determine what factors may limit student participation in the CWSA<\/li>\n<li>Highlight various opportunities available through CWSA<\/li>\n<li>Provide recommendations on how to increase and maintain student engagement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Methods<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Primary data collection via an online survey for the CWSA student body distributed through a secure UBC mailing list. This survey will seek to determine current student participation and awarness of current CWSA events and meetings. An exclusive survey for the CWSA Executive and Social Committee will be privately shared through work emails. This survey seeks to understand why members chose leadership roles in the CWSA and their goals for the organization.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Formal Report Outline<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Enclosed is the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/webfoliosidney\/2021\/12\/07\/revised-formal-report-outline\/\">Formal Report Outline.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Research Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After receiving approval from the CWSA Interim Director the surveys will be distributed to the CWSA student body and the CWSA Executive and Social Committee. The survey data will greatly inform the formal report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Writing Schedule<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My writing schedule is outlined below.<\/p>\n<p>October 30<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0_ Send out surveys for review by Interim Director DiGirolamo.<\/p>\n<p>November 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0_ Revise Formal Report Proposal<\/p>\n<p>November 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0_ Send out Surveys<\/p>\n<p>November 10<sup>th<\/sup>_ Begin writing draft of formal report. Use data provided from surveys.<\/p>\n<p>November 17<sup>th<\/sup>_ Begin editing Formal Report Draft<\/p>\n<p>November 28<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0_ Submit Formal Report to Interim Director<\/p>\n<p>December 1<sup>st<\/sup>_ Send Formal Report among all members of the CWSA Executive and Social Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The workload is appropriate as the two surveys will produce ample information to inform my recommendations. There is no cost involved in the report besides my labour. The CWSA Interim Director asked to review both the surveys and report before submitting them to wider student body. The links for the surveys are enclosed below. Feel free to advise on any aspect of this progress report.<\/p>\n<p><em>Below are the links to the surveys.
