Findings from Inquiry

One of the interesting pieces of information that I ascertained from my inquiry was that pacing was important in order to give the student the opportunity to remember information that they had studied previously.  It’s easy for students to forget information, but when they are reintroduced to ideas that were explored before within the timespan of two weeks, the students are likely to remember it.  This is a has been backed up by research that was conducted by Kapler and Capeda that I used to carry out my inquiry topic in Inquiry II.  I used the information gained therein to improve the pacing and the spacing in my classroom and I noticed that students remembered the information much more readily when the spacing techniques that Kapler and Capeda recommend.
