Different students learn through different modalities and media.  People can learn visually, audibly, kinesthetically etc.  Consequently, it is essential that teachers compose lessons that capitalize on such modalities in order to make it easier for them to learn and to make the material interesting and fun.

In my social studies 8 class I used a feudal pyramid drawn on a poster board to teach students about the feudal system.  This poster board effectively demonstrated the various levels of the feudal system to visual learners in an informative and organized way.  Following the practicum I was charged with the task of creating a new media to inform students about the feudal system using an audial modality.  Hence I wrote and sang a song about the relationships between the various figures in the feudal system so that students interested in music may take interest in this topic and perhaps even get inspired enough to write their own song or rap.
