Turning Philosophy into Practice

In order to implement the policies that I have lauded as my philosophical tenants, I will put students into groups of 2-4 in order to support student-centered learning in my classroom.  The layout of the desks will be altered now and again so that students are able to work with others, thus building a better classroom community.

Personal choices for assignments will always be made welcome so that students are able to personalize their work and so that students can explore how they would like to tackle a problem on their own.

It is essential that I make the learning environment as welcoming and inclusive as possible.  That entails creating an honest and caring relationship with all of my students.  That can be achieved by asking for the input of the shyer students in the class, or welcoming everyone coming to class at the door before the bell rings.
