St0p animation videos are great ways of introducing interesting topics to students.  They can showcase what is happening with a topic in a way that is fun to watch but also gives the idea a narrative feel that students can appreciate since the students then get to see a story unfold.  I think it adds to my repertoire of ‘literacies’ since students can follow the story orally as they listen to the sound bytes and obviously it adds to the visual literacy some students favor since they are seeing action unfold.  I also use these videos to try to inspire students to make their own stop-animation since these videos can provide a model for the students to refer to and they allow me to learn how to make videos myself so that I can assist the students with the process.
