“Margaux and the Monarch”<\/p><\/div>\n

Ever\u00a0futile is Capilano University’s game of whac-a-mole turn whac-a-sculpture, as yet one more caricature of President\u00a0<\/a>Kris Bulcroft has surfaced<\/a>. When\u00a0Blathering On in Krisendom <\/em>surfaced\u00a0Capilano University whacked it to pieces<\/a>\u00a0in May. <\/span><\/p>\n

Now in October, where life imitates art as\u00a0whac-a-sculpture,\u00a0another\u00a0has surfaced at the hands of sculptor George Rammell.\u00a0Margaux and the Monarch<\/em> is indeed a thing of beauty, mace, pen and pooch! What grand preparation for the graduation ceremony!<\/span><\/p>\n

As Capilano’s Convocation<\/em> guide indicates<\/a>, “The mace depicts the authority vested in the University to…” well, fill in the blanks. “In keeping with this longstanding tradition” of a raw and visible demonstration of\u00a0power, the Convocation<\/em>\u00a0guide indicates<\/a>, “our ceremonial mace will be carried by Capilano University\u2019s director of Buildings and Grounds.”<\/p>\n

It is unlikely the Director of Building and Grounds will carry the entire sculpture. Just the mace.\u00a0Margaux and the Monarch<\/em>!<\/p>\n

PS. Just looked outside and swear the garden gnome is now a\u00a0\u00a0$^@&% ‘n mini-Margaux and the Monarch <\/em>statue.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
