The Freedom of Information disclosure\u00a0indicates that you were unhappy with\u00a0President Gupta. On 1 May, Gupta couldn’t tell: “Things seem to be going well with the Deans now (or at least I think so)<\/em>.<\/p>\n On 22 April, a week after the FAUBC claimed a mini-victory over\u00a0scaling back and amending Policy #81<\/a>\u00a0(“Use of Teaching Materials in UBC Credit Courses”),\u00a0Gupta did the accountable thing by announcing that he was moving\u00a0Dave Farrar from the post of Provost<\/a>.<\/p>\n That Policy #81 process was painful<\/a>; it nearly led to CAUT censure of UBC. Such a needless policy and cost but no one really shed tears over the exit of the Provost<\/a>.<\/p>\n Except the Deans.\u00a0The Deans took a tantrum. Why is that?<\/p>\n Montalbano said as much to\u00a0Gupta: “The issue with the Dean\u2019s in response to the Provost announcement was a catastrophic example that you are not either being informed in a timely manner or worse.”<\/em><\/p>\n Ok Deans, time to speak up and come clean.
