{"id":9181,"date":"2012-10-30T20:35:24","date_gmt":"2012-10-31T04:35:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/workplace\/?p=9181"},"modified":"2013-06-05T15:49:11","modified_gmt":"2013-06-05T23:49:11","slug":"chan-v-ubc-hearing-scheduled-at-bc-supreme-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/workplace\/2012\/10\/chan-v-ubc-hearing-scheduled-at-bc-supreme-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Chan v UBC Hearing Scheduled at BC Supreme Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The BC Supreme Court\u00a0has scheduled a Hearing date for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bchrt.bc.ca\/decisions\/2012\/pdf\/jan\/12_CORRECTED_Chan_v_UBC_and_others_No_2_2012_BCHRT_12.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Jennifer Chan v UBC and others [Beth Haverkamp, David Farrar, Jon Shapiro, Rob Tierney] racial discrimination\u00a0case<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0Tuesday 13 November 2012 at 10am. \u00a0In January this year, BC Human Rights Tribunal decided to move the case to Hearing. <em><\/em>In March, UBC petitioned to the BC Supreme Court for a judicial review to challenge the BCHRT&#8217;s decision.
