Digging tools – shovels, long bar, small pick axe, big pick axe, hammer, rake.\u00a0 Before digging, used shears to clear grass, shrubs and tree branches around site.<\/p>\n At this stage over 4′ wide x 7′ long x max 5′ deep hole.\u00a0 Final size ended up over 4′ x 9′ x\u00a0 max 62″ depth.\u00a0 Soil is fairly rocky and clean, no garbage found.\u00a0 At about a depth of 2 feet, soil is more packed and difficult to break with a shovel. At about 3 feet in depth, hit hard pan and a pick axe was used to break the hard pan into grey shale like pieces.<\/p>\n Piles of soil and shale.\u00a0 Wood planks placed across hole and used for measuring depth and climbing support.<\/p>\n 24″ x 5 foot pipe for inserting into hole.\u00a0 5 foot pipe sits on top of a 2 foot short pipe at bottom.\u00a0 Pipe weighs over 22 kg.\u00a0 Therefore total length of pipe is about 7 feet in length.<\/p>\n Outer pipe in hole.\u00a0 Ladder was constructed and used to climb down and out of hole.\u00a0 As well used as a sled to remove pipe from hole.<\/p>\n Inner pipe inserted into outer pipe.\u00a0 Leveled.\u00a0 Water pooled at bottom is from the previous night’s rain showers.\u00a0 Water and mud was bailed out of hole to continue digging and shaping hole for pipe insertion.<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
