When I walk into the Stockholm Public Library, I was so impressed that I was surrounded by the booking wall and divine light come from the top of buildings. That feeling is kind of educational power, in other words, this place emphasizes the character of spiritual space.
HOW TO ACHIEVE this FEELING in architecture — roof skylight
1.Stockholm locates in the high latitude area (59.3293°N). The sunlight angle is between 51°in summer and 6°in winter.
2.the white coarse wall will well diffuse the daylight. the daylight will light the top of the library, which will impress the visitors.
3.When I walk into the building, there is a light attract me through the long dark upstair to the center of the library. Through a transition from dark enclosed entrance to the light open center space, I have a feeling that the center space of the library is divine.
