As one of the most popular food brand in Canada, Tim Hortons is taking steps to CSR (corporate social responsibility) all the time.
There might be a donation for its children foundation when you order for your drinks. Apart from communities, Tim Hortons shows social responsibility also for environment. They build the green building design by implementing the waste management and recycling programs. Also, they support and sponsor the clean-up and tree planting events.
There always has lots of things to do for a corporate to achieve social responsibility. However, the company that pay attention in the humanity should not only provide financial support, but also offer some actual helps such as teaching resources for children live in the remote rural areas; at the same time, they can also deliver foods and drinks frequently to those areas. From the environmental aspect, in the case to prevent the upcoming natural resource shortage and climate change, waste reduction by reusing, recycling and reproduction is largely encouraged. For example, there always has the waste diversion boxes in Tim Hortons in order to make the waste management much more efficient. These conducts would largely strengthen the company’s social impacts, so they can reconceive their markets.
It is quite important for a company to meet the sustainable development. Instead being like a charity, the corporate social responsibility is more likely to create shared value in order to maximize both social and economic value.
