Web Folio Reflection Blog

The process of creating the Web folio provides me with an opportunity to overview my term work in ENGL 301. I am very proud that I successfully completed all the coursework, and my English writing improved through the term work. I learned in many ways, such as writing career-related documentations, communication in technical and business scenarios, and constructing formal research.

Beginning with application letters, I learned to properly introduce myself as a candidate, emphasizing my personal skills and relative experiences. This process is similar to writing a cover letter to apply for a job. However, a cover letter shows interest and should be based on the resume’s content. In making a resume, I learned to layout contents appropriately. Contents like career-related skills and previous experiences should be organized at the beginning of a resume.

Peering review is the major way to learn about communication in a business or technical way. Inside a team, we treated each other as colleagues and learned to point out their weaknesses in writing without losing politeness. Also, the peer review allowed me to transmit my position from a writer to a reader. When I read my teammates’ work, I saw myself as their audience and questioned their work.

I also learned to target problems in my daily life and provide solutions. I learned to write a proposal to some audiences who care about the issue, research the previous work and understand their solutions, create my own solutions, collect data and use them to analyze the feasibility of my solution.

When organizing all the term work into a web folio, I reviewed all the materials that I learned in this term and revised them. I created a new blog page for the web folio and chose images for the web folio. I am pleased to attend this course and work with all my teammates in the professional writing team.
