From Here…

As part of my education program, I had to create an artifact that described myself from the past, present, and future. And here is what I created:

This is me. The two red pins on the map are my two homes – Japan and Vancouver. Green pins signifying places I have visited. The white pins are placed on countries where my friends are from, which are all the potential places I can go travel. The pictures show some of the most significant people I had the pleasure of knowing over years. These are the people I have shared amazing times with, these are the people who continuously helps me realize and develop who I am.

All of these locations are chapters in my life. All of these people are the treasures of my life. With every place I visit, I meet new people and learn something new. Through conversations I gather different ways of viewing things – I might agree or I might disagree. But that doesn’t matter because at least now, I know there is another way of seeing things.

That’s how I’ve developed and continue to develop today.

So what now? What’s my goal?

I have yet to figure out the clear answer to this question.

But teaching is now a way of life for me. It is something I have always wanted and dreamed of. Having my own classroom, building knowledge, exploring the questions and wonders of our little people… This is clearly one of my new goals: teaching. But I also think there are other goals, like continuing to travel and keep searching for new things that interest me – Self-development. I want to continue experiencing things and broadening the perspective I have about myself, people, environment… the world. Granted once I have a stable job, finding time for all these might become very difficult. But it’s not an impossibility. Time management will become key; it’s about finding the balance.

Balance.

I think this has been, currently is, and will continue to be my core goal.
