Coca Cola’s packing seduction

Today, I would like to comment on Haoran Jiang’s blog about Coca Cola’s seductive packaging.

Dominate in beverage industry globally, Coca Cola’s diet Coke has supplanted Pepsi as the number-two-selling soft drink recently.

What make Coca Cola become such a successful company? Well, it’s apparently Coca Cola’s attempt to influence the other senses besides taste. Especially Coca Cola conduct their brand personality to their consumer by innovative packing. By re-inventing its packaging brand in used glass, plastic, cans, those new, greener ways to package its product, Coca Cola introduce special bottles and cans that stick with different events and fashions.

As Haoren said, If a product stands out in packaging, consumers will easily notice the product while shopping, and might buy a bottle of coca cola just because of its innovative packaging. Form my personal experience, it works exactly the way she said. A year ago, I was traveling with my friends in Yukon, and expected to see northern light. On our way driving from Whitehorse to Dawson, we stopped by a gas station for rest and I found that beside the gas station,in the convenient store, there was a special kind of Coca Cola stored on the shelf. This is the first time I see special Coke packing rather than pictures or ads poster, so I bought it and took a picture with it.

Here are some pictures:

Lastly, Here a news that Pepsi is no longer the number 2 soft drink in the world. It has been over taken by Diet Coke!
