Coca Cola’s packing seduction

Today, I would like to comment on Haoran Jiang’s blog about Coca Cola’s seductive packaging.

Dominate in beverage industry globally, Coca Cola’s diet Coke has supplanted Pepsi as the number-two-selling soft drink recently.

What make Coca Cola become such a successful company? Well, it’s apparently Coca Cola’s attempt to influence the other senses besides taste. Especially Coca Cola conduct their brand personality to their consumer by innovative packing. By re-inventing its packaging brand in used glass, plastic, cans, those new, greener ways to package its product, Coca Cola introduce special bottles and cans that stick with different events and fashions.

As Haoren said, If a product stands out in packaging, consumers will easily notice the product while shopping, and might buy a bottle of coca cola just because of its innovative packaging. Form my personal experience, it works exactly the way she said. A year ago, I was traveling with my friends in Yukon, and expected to see northern light. On our way driving from Whitehorse to Dawson, we stopped by a gas station for rest and I found that beside the gas station,in the convenient store, there was a special kind of Coca Cola stored on the shelf. This is the first time I see special Coke packing rather than pictures or ads poster, so I bought it and took a picture with it.

Here are some pictures:

Lastly, Here a news that Pepsi is no longer the number 2 soft drink in the world. It has been over taken by Diet Coke!

Proudest achievement:

My proudest achievement is I step out of  a serious disease 2 years ago: I became suddenly deaf. I could barely hear anything except for a really annoying drumming in my ears. I even thought about committing suicide a couple of times during that period. However, my parents, my friends, my teachers and my doctor helped me to survive. I am lucky that I was born into a rich family, so they could afford the treatment for me. But many of kids I know, who could not afford the treatment are still tortured by the deafness and ongoing ear drumming. I do not know why I feel guilt about them. I used to dream about being a doctor who could cure disease and relieve pain from the patient but now I have decided to acquire a degree in commerce. My sense now is that the real disease is the poverty that makes people feels hopeless and apathetic.

What you have learned about yourself in class?

After taking this course, I have learned how to make solid resume, cover letter and effective strategies and tactics for interview and networking. Especially, I learned a lot from the formal interview, such as job analysis, Strengths Quest, CAR, and manners during the interview. Other than that, in tutor class, I share my personal experiences and thoughts with my class mates and get inspired by TA(Nathan)’s talk. With all those experiences I have learned, I build up confident that I can get hired by those companies that I really want to get in.

Green Lantern

Recently, I watch a commercial about The Green Lantern on youtube.

The “Green Lantern” was created in 1940 by writer Bill Finger and artist Martin Nodell. Hal Jordan introduced in 1959, a second-generation test pilot, is an ordinary man who was given the power ring and battery (lantern) by a dying alien named Abin Sur. When Abin Sur’s spaceship crashed on Earth, the alien used his ring to seek out an individual to take his place as Green Lantern: someone who was “utterly honest and born without fear.”

Now, Green Lantern is an upcoming superhero film based on the comic book character of the same name appearing in DC Comics. The film will star Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, with Martin Campbell directing a script by Greg Berlanti and comic book writers Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, which was subsequently rewritten by Michael Goldenberg.Green Lantern is scheduled to be released on June 17, 2011 in 3D.

The first image of Ryan Reynolds in costume was revealed in the July 16, 2010 issue of Entertainment Weekly. A teaser trailer for the film was shown at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. The first footage of the film was widely released online in November 2010 with thirty seconds of footage airing the following day on Entertainment Tonight. The first full theatrical trailer for the film was shown before theatrical screenings of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.  The first full trailer became available online in November 2010.

A New Born

Hello My Dear Friend:

Before bogging, I would like to introduce more about myself to you. My name is Bill, and I’m a second year Sauder School of Business student! I grew up in Beijing, where is the last Olympic city and also the capital of China. I came to Canada two years ago and started at Okanagan College for studying. Since I was in a titanic city, which has the whole population of Canada (approximately 30,000,000), I found I prefer live in city rather than a small town. So that is the reason why I am studying in UBC now.

What do I love to do? ESG!

What is that? Eat, Sleep and GYM!!!

What is your hobby? I won’t tell you anything, that is the thing you should dig through >,<.

Yup, that’s me.

Peace out…
