299 is a very useful course, especially for students like us who is going to face the highly competitive work market and struggling to get a good job.
The first part of the course, in the first part of the course, I have learnt how to write a proper and outstanding cover letter and resume. These are really important, because that’s how the employers get to know you for the first time. Throughout the course, I have not only learnt the correct format of writing cover letter and resume, but valuable skills like writing C.A.R. statement. By making use of the C.A.R. statement, it makes my experience and achievements look far more outstanding than it used to be. The course has really brought my cover letter and resume to a brand new level.
Furthermore, in the second part of the course, I have learnt minor things but are really important for a business student like me, such as how to shake hands in the proper and respectful way. Moreover I have learnt how nail a interview, how should I react in an interview, what are the questions that I should expect the employer to ask, and even what of question I should ask in an interview. Without this course, I will never know that I should follow up to the interview after the interview is over, because it helps to show that I m really interested in the job.
After all, I feel thankful for the people in the career learning center for providing us with the opportunity to learn thing like this. As a UBC Sauder student, we are really lucky
