We need entrpreneurship

With the increasing development of economy, the United Nations becomes well funded. However, it is obviously that we still need entrepreneurship regardless of the fact that the United Nations is fully funded. Because when the poor need help, the United Nations can only provide physical support while the entrpreneurship has business skills and they can provide mental support which is also very important. The great example is shown by the video. It features past Skoll World Forum luminaries such as Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yun and so on. They not only bring enough medicine, food and clothes to the people in Africa but also assist them in building their own business to help them survive by their own. They gave the hope to the people in the hopeless place and support them mentally and physically. They persist in finding methods to help those desperate people without caring benefits. That is why they are powerful and critical. These kind of helps cannot be provided by the United Nations.

I agree with his opinion that McDonald should sell organic food to their customers to prevent their sale from falling. Because McDonald is the largest restaurant chain in the world and it has a huge amount of customers, which means that they have considerably big influence. With the deveopment of the society, an increasing number of people become to focus on their health. It is crucial for them to keep the food healthy unless they would lose a lot of customers. Yi suggests that McDonald needs to provide organic food with people on account of the fact that it is not only healthy food that customers ask for but also have various tastes that satisfy customer’s needs. In my opinion, organic food is great choice for MDC for the reason that it is safe enough for people to eat and it is a new type of food in the fast food market. Therefore, in order to survive in this competitive market, MDC should carry out effective strategy and this one is suitable for them.

This blog is mainly talking about the copyrights of China’s film industry online. Due to the failure of the law of copyrights in China, there is rampant online piracy existing in film industry. The fact is that most customers don’t want to pay for the downlaods and the internet speed is really a big trouble. So the main revenue of entertainment online is only from the advertisement. However, nowadays more and more customers become to accpet the pay of the downloads in order to avoid the advertisement. In 2009, one serious issue just happened. Coca-Cola and Pepsi were sued in China for contributory copyright infringement because their advertisements were associated with piracy on Youku, which finally forced China to solve its problems of online piracy. In my opinion, online piracy should be paid more attention on. Because the copyrights protects the film works that made by artists. If they don’t build the law of copyrights well and put aside online piracy, a huge amount of great film works would be destroyed. For the sake of avoiding piracy, both customers and Chinese website should take the responsibility. Only when they work hard together, can they prevent this kind of issue from happening.

Comment on Lily Du’s blog

I agree with lily’s opinion on the issue posted in the article. Since the internet has been developing so fast, people become more and more to rely on the internet to see movies or Tv shows. It is hard for the cable provider to survive in the competition with inferior position. Therefore, it is crutial for the company to change their business model. For example, HBO decided to get into streaming programming in order to adjust to current situation because it is the most profitable way to go directly to the customer. While there are still some troubles with these kind of changes. As lily said, technology continuously advances and creates an unpredictable future. So it is difficult for the company to find one long-term solution and stick to it forever. They have to keep the pace with the whole technology development. That’s why the company has to regenerate frequently. Besides, they also need to take their own properties and advantages into consideration rather than just copy what others do. Aiming to survive in the fsat-paced generation, this flexibility, comprehensive analyses of current situations and dexterity is important.

DATA is important for decision making

keyhole

Nowadays, as society develops in a rapid pace, the scale of company has been enlarged a lot. So, making a right decision is very crucial for its developing. Then data plays a key role in this part. Because the advanced technology makes it easier to collect data and these data allow the manager to observe the information that they have never seen before. However, there are some firms that ignore the importance of the data and make decision by their own. They prefer to depend on their own knowledge than to rely on the data. But this behaviour is much too advocacy. With the increasing importance of the data, the role of a manager really changes. They become more reliable on the data instead of their own knowledge. Therefore, the data-driven decision should be pursued.
In order to take advantage of the data, managers and analysts need to test it and make it a reality. They have to understand the power of the data and cooperate with each other as well.
Anyway, the company which wants to observe a big achievement is demanded to utilize the data correctly because data is important for decision making.

Japanese Investment

20141101_FNC139

Nowadays, it is obvious that Japanese firms have invested a huge amount of money in foreign companies because the weak domestic economy is just spurring Japanese companies to expand abroad.

It is well known that Japanese firms have a long history of investment in the past. At the time, they really focused on spending money abroad. However, with the occurrence of Asian financial crisis, they changed their investing plan. Unfortunately, they encountered with some blockage after the change they made, such as the increase of China’s labor costs, earning minuscule returns. Although later the Japanese government made their firms just focus on their domestic industry, due to some aging problems, they still suffered from the financial deficit. Finally, they stopped to invest in the foreign companies. But it is still with big troubles since the exports of Japan are suffering a lot. They focused too much on the broad firms while neglected the benefits that can be obtained from its domestic companies. Besides, profits that earned from the broad investment couldn’t make up the loss that they made. This action destroyed the balance of Japanese trade.

If japan wants to make their economy back to growth, they should make appropriate economic plan which is balancing their investment between the domestic companies and foreign one.

European banks stress relief

20141101_FNC138_1

Recently, the discovery of a black hole in Greece’s public finances indicated the start of the euro-zone crisis. It is a great economic loss period because the banks really lost a huge amount of money at that time. Then the “stress test” came out. The outcome of the test were mostly encouraging the economy to falter a little bit. But there are still a lot to do.

By doing this test, the ECB found the trouble that was valued $1.1 trillion, but when compared to the whole huge asset, it was really trivial. The difficulties of this test is the uncertain measurement of the deflation and the test just can’t asses some state-owned banks like in Germany.

For the positive side of this test, it highlighted the weakness of the Italy’s banks and reduced the interest rate of borrowing. Nevertheless, there are still existing some problems. For example, banks still hold a disproportionate amount of their own country’s sovereign debt, which may easily cause the crisis again.

The stress test actually reverse the opinion of the ECB towards the banks. Before the test, the banks were seen as the obstacle to the growth while after the test, this argument is weaken a lot. However, as it is in the period of anemic economy, we need more methods to fight for the euro-zone crisis.
