About Me
Hi!
My name is Ashley Kilian. I am graduating from UBC’s MLIS program this spring. I come at this program from an arts background (my major was in communications [professional writing stream] with a minor in linguistics), and from the background of someone who has worked as a Library Assistant in libraries for many years (9, to be exact).
To this class, I bring both my background in libraries and my background of being a moderate-to-light social media user in my free time. I’m a little snarky, a little judgmental, and a little brash at times, but I just can’t seem to help it that my default setting is critical rather than accepting. I have taken this approach to my use of social media, as well.
And since I’m not sure how to add an avatar to my profile yet, I’ll just say I’m that white-haired blonde you might have seen around SLAIS every once in a while, if that helps any.
