Everything I own is in boxes

Yup. It’s August and I’m getting ready to start another term at UBC before I leave for my exchange, which begins in…drumroll……4 months!!

Amongst moving into a new place, organizing my work schedule, coming home from a holiday and finalizing exchange details, it has felt like I have never fully unpacked since last school year ended, physically and mentally.

So, I thought I would take this time to unpack the next four months for you (but mostly for me) to get a bigger picture of what my preparations will look like before I arrive in Norway!

September:

  • finish NMBU Application (due Sept 10)
  • inform work of official leave dates

October:

  • apply for student housing
  • send student visa application to Ottawa (by Oct 31)

November:

  • book flights (Black Friday sales?)
  • finalize health and travel insurance

December:

  • figure out banking $$
  • learn basic Norwegian phrases
  • pack! (the lighter the better)
  • renew driver’s license
  • goodbye party?
  • FLY

Excitingggg! I’m sure I’ll think of more, but that’s all for now.
