said every university student ever.
Yup. It’s August and I’m getting ready to start another term at UBC before I leave for my exchange, which begins in…drumroll……4 months!!
Amongst moving into a new place, organizing my work schedule, coming home from a holiday and finalizing exchange details, it has felt like I have never fully unpacked since last school year ended, physically and mentally.
So, I thought I would take this time to unpack the next four months for you (but mostly for me) to get a bigger picture of what my preparations will look like before I arrive in Norway!
September:
- finish NMBU Application (due Sept 10)
- inform work of official leave dates
October:
- apply for student housing
- send student visa application to Ottawa (by Oct 31)
November:
- book flights (Black Friday sales?)
- finalize health and travel insurance
December:
- figure out banking $$
- learn basic Norwegian phrases
- pack! (the lighter the better)
- renew driver’s license
- goodbye party?
- FLY
Excitingggg! I’m sure I’ll think of more, but that’s all for now.

This makes me think you’ve packed Herbie and shipped him to Norway…

Haha if you don’t see him around, then he is most likely with me in Norway 😉
