We are currently completing the final segments of our CBEL project with City Studio. Over the past week or so our group has continued to finalize our list of identified grocery stores, caterers, farmers, supermarkets, wholesalers, restaurants and food processing plants. Our goal is to to identify a minimum of five big chains for each category and five to 10 locations (give or take) for each subsequential chain. All of the members in our group have had little to no hands on experience related to a project of this style; however, our group is more than capable of utilizing the internet as a means of identifying food donors (ie. grocery stores, supermarkets, etc.) and their respective locations.

As mentioned in our last group blog post, we had difficulties in identifying and locating various food processing plants within Vancouver. This problem was resolved by pooling our entire group’s efforts together. More intensive research was conducted, and with the additional help from other City Studio groups we were able to identify a bunch of food processors within Vancouver! We were also able to speak to Professor Nancy Ross of UBC who provided names of food processors to add to our growing list.
