We are inviting Canadian entrepreneurs, aged 18 to 35, to apply and compete for our $100,000 BDC Grand Prize for Innovation.
- Young business owners are to submit a short video presenting an innovative project that will grow and improve their business.
- Eleven finalists will be selected- one from each province and one from the combined territories (Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut).
- Once finalists have been selected, Canadians will vote for the winner of the $100,000 BDC Grand Prize for Innovation.

The NRG Battle – World Edition is the competition for innovation and sustainability, organized during the World Gas Conference in Kuala Lumpur.
100 global top talents work for four days in multidisciplinary teams of five, on challenging cases provided by companies from the energy sector. At the end of the four days, each team presents their idea in a 3-minute pitch to an expert jury, consisting of CEO’s and Directors. The jury nominates three teams that will pitch their idea once more to 5000 delegates at the World Gas Conference, who will then choose the winner of the NRG Battle – World edition.
Participation is free of charge for students, including flight tickets, accommodation and food & drinks. A team of MBA students from Warwick Business School are participating in a Financial Times MBA competition and are looking for someone to join their team. This exciting project is to develop a business plan to market glasses to young people in one or more developing countries in Asia and/or Africa. HEC Sustainability Challenge 2012
For a third year the HEC Sustainability Challenge 2012 is being held at HEC Montréal, a leading Canadian business school located in Montréal (Canada).
The case competition takes place on March 17, 2012 as part of the Montréal Sustainability Weekend which is co-organized with Concordia University and McGill University. Related events include the ‘Business Beyond Tomorrow’ conference and opportunities to discover Montréal.
Participants include MBA students from business schools across North America. The organizers are students from HEC Montréal MBA program.
Registration:
Registration is open until February 24, 2012 and is associated with a fee of 200$. One team per school is allowed. All team members must be currently enrolled as MBA students, either full-time or part-time, at the university. Teams must consist of four (4) members. Applications are revised on an ongoing basis.
Case:
Participants will be presented with a current, real-life, complex case challenging business strategy in terms of corporate responsibility. They will be asked to conceive an original and practical solution. This year’s case will be related to energy and international issues.
Teams will present their solution in front of a panel of judges comprised of experts and senior executives from the industry.

Project Firefly is an emerging leaders essay competition that aims to open career opportunities for university students and recent graduates from around the world. The project brings together ambitious, “future thought” leaders with forward thinking sponsors and established analysts and leaders on one platform.
The papers will be reviewed by highly reputed Professors and Deans prior to being published. Sponsors will include top global corporations searching for the tomorrows thought leaders who can provide insight into contemporary issues.
Top 3 winners will receive a trip to the Credit Suisse Thought Leadership Conference in Hong Kong in March 2012.

For any of you interested in Spring in North Dakota, this case competition may be of interest to you.
The Giants Entrepreneurship Challenge held in Grand Forks on April 13-14, 2012 is open to all student teams at all colleges and universities in North Dakota, the United States and Canadian provinces. Cash prizes are awarded to the top three teams, and others prizes will be awarded for the “Best Elevator Pitch,” “Most Innovative Idea” and “Most Improved.”
The competition will take place annually at the University of North Dakota to continue to support innovation, entrepreneurship and development of future business ventures.

Spots for teams for the Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC) are still available, but may be gone soon!
The RITC is an annual event held in the heart of Canada’s financial district, downtown Toronto. Hosted by the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, the competition brings teams of students and faculty from universities worldwide to participate in a unique 3 day conference. RITC utilizes simulated trading cases that closely mimic different aspects of real world markets.
This year’s RITC will be held from Thursday, February 23rd, 2012 to Saturday, February 25th, 2012.
