MBA Happiness Index®

Dear MBA students,

We are pleased to have been selected alongside other leading international business schools to take part in a survey to be published by Forbes that looks at MBA Happiness.

While many media assessments of the impact of an MBA focus on salary, career progression, ROI and satisfaction, no one has thought to ask the same group how happy they are as a result of their MBA experience.

We trust that your journey in UBC MBA is proving to be mostly positive, and would therefore be grateful if you could take 3 minutes to answer this brief survey, which does not require you to share any personal contact details.  Please participate before April 29th.

Thanks for your attention.  We look forward to sharing the results with you.

MBA Society – Referendum

On Friday evening, the MBA Society will hold a referendum to vote for your Cohort on the increase of student fees for future classes from ~$260 to $400.  This increase will provide the future MBA Societies with a larger budget for hosting events and grant students the ability to participant in more activities outside of the classroom.

The Presidents from the current part time and full time classes will be present to discuss and administer the vote.

Specialization Declaration – REMINDER

PT MBA Cohort 9 Students:

Some of you may have already done this, but for those of you who have not and want one, you will need to declare specialization(s)/sub-specialization(s) by no later than April 10, 2013.

If you do not wish to specialize, you do not need to.  Any student not wishing to specialize will automatically be on the system as “MBA” (no specialization listed) and do not need to submit any application.

It is possible for a student to have a maximum of two items noted on a UBC transcript provided they meet the requirements by the time of graduation.  For an MBA student, this can be any combination of Specialization or Sub-Specialization:

1 specialization
OR
1 sub-specialization
OR
1 specialization and 1 sub-specialization
OR
2 specializations
OR
2 sub-specializations

Specialization and Sub-specialization descriptions can be found on the Current Students section of the Sauder website under the “FT MBA Specializations” tab.

Any student wishing to have any of the above noted on their transcript must email askmba@sauder.ubc.ca with the following information:

  • In the subject line: SPECIALIZATION CHOICES – FULL NAME
  • In the body of the message include:
    • Full Name
    • Student Number
    • Specialization and/or Sub-specialization choices (maximum of 2)

Any student wishing to change their specialization or sub-specialization should email askmba@sauder.ubc.ca with the same information above, noting in the subject that it’s a SPECIALIZATION CHOICE CHANGE.
