Marketing is often thought of as the smoke and mirrors used by businesses to leverage the most money possible out of the buying public. But, at UBC’s Sauder School of Business, professors often look at this relationship from the consumers’ perspective to understand marketing’s effects and possible abuses. The research presented in this forum seeks to demystify marketing practices to empower consumers.

A microwave and refrigerator have been made available for student use in the Bentall lounge (located outside of  regular classroom C150/180).  The microwave can be found under the counter inside the last cupboard on the right.

An updated version of the Pre-Core & Orientation schedule has been posted on Vista under: Home Page › Preparation & General Program Information › Structure of the MBA › orientation and registration.

This version has locations listed for the Welcome Dinner as well as a location change for the first weekend of Core (you will now be at UBC Robson Square for Jan 28-31).  There is also a slight change in start/end times.  Please print off a new copy of the schedule for your reference.

UBC MBA Part-time Program Summer Study Abroad Scholarships – Copenhagen Business School

 The MBA & ECM Programs Office is pleased to announce new scholarships for the ISUP Summer Program at Copenhagen Business School.

 Background

The scholarships, funded by the Dean’s Office, are in recognition of our close historical ties, shared values and a similar academic culture guided by common interests. Building on an active 16-year exchange partnership, Copenhagen Business School and Sauder School of Business are embarking on the development of a broader strategic collaboration as we deepen, expand and reinforce bilateral partnership across a broad range of programs, faculty, research and academic initiatives. 

 Criteria

Part-time MBA students meeting the below criteria will qualify for the $1000 scholarship:

1. Recipients must be UBC MBA part-time students in good academic standing with no academic misconduct/discipline and a minimum 80% average in all courses/modules 
2. Recipients must have successfully completed the MBA Core and a minimum of 6 MBA modules
3. Recipients must fully participate in the summer study abroad at Copenhagen Business School (equal to 6 UBC credits)

 Application

No application is required for this scholarship. All students applying for the ISUP program at Copenhagen Business School will be automatically considered.
