About Ariel

Ariel Kagan is an environmental economist specializing in fisheries, international governance, and food security. She graduated Cum Laude from Mount Holyoke College with High Honors in Economics. After college she worked with the Seafood Fraud team at Oceana, uncovering the prevalence of mislabeled seafood in the market and for the International Monitoring, Control and Surveillance Network, an organization dedicated to collaboration between nations with the mission of combating illegal, unregulated and unreported (IUU) fishing.

Currently Ariel is pursuing a Masters in Food and Resource Economics at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. This website is intended to be used as part of FRE 501: Commodity Markets and Price Analysis.
