Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to my first attempt at UBC Blogs.   This page will be built using course content for ETEC 565-A and is primarily an experiment in online course design.

I’m currently a sessional instructor at the University of Guelph-Humber, teaching upper year courses in the Department of Psychology.  My PhD research looked at how individual differences in the response to stress during pregnancy can have long-term impacts on the brain and behaviour, especially as it relates to stress, anxiety, and depression.  While completing my degree, I had the opportunity to teach a few sessions of introductory psychology, and I found a real passion for teaching, both the practice of it – sharing my enthusiasm for science – and the research behind what makes something a ‘good’ teaching technique.  I will be using this space to create, and experiment with, some of these various learning theories and tools.  Thanks for reading!
