Welcome!

Hi!

My name is Veronica and this website has been made in conjunction with my APBI 315 term paper related to Animal Hoarding.

Please note that this is a concise version of my topic paper that highlights the different sections of my paper in a (hopefully) interesting and enticing way!

My goal for this website is to help my audience learn more about animal hoarding and how this very complex issue affects the welfare of the two victim groups involved: the animals, and the hoarder; as well as outline what is currently being done in Canada to regulate this animal cruelty problem.

I hope you enjoy and thanks for visiting!

An Analysis of Animal Hoarding

The animal-human relationship is considered by many as detrimental to their physiological and psychological well-being; but what happens if this relationship becomes dysfunctional and problematic?

Animal hoarding is a complex and poorly understood problem that has devastating welfare implications on both the animals and the hoarder.

As a society, it is easy for us to dismiss animal abusers and perpetrators of animal cruelty as evil and ill-intentioned; so how come these labels don’t exactly correlate with animal hoarders? This website will outline characteristics of animal hoarders, what Canada is currently doing to regulate animal hoarding, the welfare implications of both human and animal, and what can be done in the future to better manage this issue.
