- If you suspect someone close to you or someone you know is in possession of an animal, or multiple animals, in distress, call BC SPCA at
1 (855) 6BC SPCA - Reach out to those you suspect/know are animal hoarders. Let them know that you are there for them if they need help, and help them understand that their animals require urgent veterinary care. If possible, guide them to resources such as therapy and counselling.
- Volunteer with the BC SPCA. When the animals from a hoarder are taken and sent to a shelter, the workers are overwhelmed. Help them by volunteering your time to give the animals the care they need and deserve.
- Lastly, educate yourself and others by showing them this website! There are many other resources out there that can help you understand what animal hoarding is all about- but this website is a great place to start!
