This is a page containing examples of my best work this semester. These assignments have been edited and revised according to feedback received by my peers and professor.

  1. Revised Definition Assignment
    1. Purpose: to provide the parenthetical, sentence, and expanded definitions of the term search engine optimization (SEO) to an audience of “non-technical readers”
    2. What I learned: This assignment helped me appreciate the importance and role of definitions in technical writing. It also helped me understand how audience and purpose affect a definition.

  2. Revised Peer Review of the Definition Assignment
    1. Purpose: offer a team member positive feedback as well as critical and constructive advice for editing
    2. What I learned: to carefully examine any document and consider the writer’s writing techniques and strategies and reflect on how the feedback applies to one’s own writing.
    3. Edited according to professor’s feedback on removing pronouns.
  3. Revised Formal Report Proposal
    1. Purpose: to investigate, analyze, and recommend action to increase community engagement at Bedok Public Library Singapore.
    2. What I learned: to ask the right questions, brainstorming and figuring out the correct forms of research.

  4. Revised Progress Report
    1. Purpose: Progress Report to the professor regarding the work done so far for the formal report.
    2. Revised the outline according to feedback from the professor.
  5. Revised Proposal Memo
    1. Purpose: provide a summary of the proposal for the formal report to the professor
    2. Revised the memo to include the intended reader according to the professor’s feedback.
  6. Revised LinkedIn Best practices memo
    1. Purpose: share research findings with my writing team regarding best practices for using LinkedIn as a professional networking site.
    2. Revised memo to include imperative verbs according to the professor’s feedback.
  7. Revised Memo to Evan Crisp
    1.  Purpose: to study and review writing techniques and learn how to write with a “You Attitude”
  8. Revised Complaint letter and Response letter
    1. Purpose:  Letter #1 – write a letter of complaint about an error on a bill, rude service, a mistake in delivery, or the poor quality of some product you have purchased. Letter # 2 -Take the role of the employee whose job it is to respond.
