Hi! For a bit of an introduction about me, I’m Ariel and I’m in my fourth year studying Biology concentrating in Marine Biology. I’m from Winnipeg, MB and have loved getting to broaden my perspective on Marine Biology for the last few years on the west coast.

Like Ariel the mermaid, I am fascinated by the ocean and passionate about conserving marine life. I am excited about all marine organisms particularly invertebrates such as corals, starfish, anemones, & octopuses.

l am currently working on a directed studies research project investigating the effect of temperature on the heart rate of killifish embryos and the role of cardiac genes throughout development.

In the future I hope to continue my education fusing my interests in marine research and conservation.
