Affected Users: All Web Conferencing v12 users
Details:
During this maintenance window we will be updating Blackboard Collaborate Web Conferencing to version 12.1. We expect services to be unavailable for a brief period of time as we apply the update.
Additionally, we will be applying changes to our network infrastructure to improve the distribution of the version 12 JAR file download required to launch Blackboard Collaborate sessions. This change will move the download of these files to a new IP address: 69.196.229.247. This change will have no impact on v10 or v11 users.
The version 12.1 files are downloaded over the standard HTTP/HTTPS protocols and we do not expect there to be any complications with this change. However, if your institution does limit traffic through strict network rules, it may be necessary for this IP address to be added. Please see our guidelines for configuring firewall/routers for more information.

How will users access the new release?
Users will be required to download the full set of JAR files for version 12.1 as they enter their first Web Conferencing version 12 session after the upgrade is complete on Sunday, October 14, 2012. We suggest that you notify your users of this update so they allow extra time to join sessions.
